Ms Ammar saw my elderly mother who, until now, had had 10 years of fairly painful and unpleasant intervention. This was sensitively and sensibly questioned. It was agreed to discontinue rather than continuing on what had felt to be a treadmill of ongoing treatment regardless of need. My mother has dementia and is deaf - Ms Ammar was kind and gentle and completely put her at ease especially as she has great anxiety about attending this clinic. I wish I had seen this doctor for my own gynae needs recently - a very great contrast in care! There was discussion with a trainee GP in the room but at no stage did I feel excluded or made to feel that I was not part of the consultation. Stats below completed on behalf of my mother

From the first consultation with Katy Ammar I felt that she was someone I could trust. She was caring,considerate,gentle and reassuring right the way through my procedure for hysterectomy. She is not a surgeon who will operate without careful consideration for the risks and benefits of any procedure she performs. Even though I had an open operation she was minimally invasive during the procedure which probably explains why there was little trauma and pain afterwards. I therefore gained my mobility very quickly. She treated me with respect and I would thoroughly recommend her to anybody. She treated me with respect and was very informative throughout.

Miss Ammar was patient and explained my options to me so that I was able to make an informed decision about the procedure that was most appropriate for me. I had surgery which went well - no pain or discomfort post operatively and I recovered quickly. So far seems to have been a success.

I had a serious front wall and uterine prolapse. Even walking was becoming unpleasant, and I was aware of it all the time. My doctor referred me to the Helsea and Westminster hospital, but after they cancelled 4 appointments at short notice, and I still hadn’t seen a gynaecologist I decided to go privately. I went see three consultants and selected Ms Ammar after a lot of research . She is a very skilled surgeon and I feel so lucky to have found her. I had a front wall repair, without mesh and a vaginal hysterectomy. Two days after surgery, I feel already amazing and so little pain! I can’t recommend this surgeon enough,
